My name is Crystal Mildwaters. I’m 23 years old from Brisbane, Australia. I was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia and became the number 1 ranked tennis player in Australia for my birth year. I competed internationally and across Australia, winning an Australian National Title when I was 14 and earning my first WTA Professional point at 15 years old.
I started playing pickleball at the start of the year 2025 when I was the last female draft pick in Queensland for the NPL (National Pickleball League). My team, the Outback, ended up winning the entire season.
I have played Premier MLP Australia as an alternate and have travelled for PPAs in New Zealand and Vietnam this year. I am inspired by the idea of saying “Yes” to every opportunity. I wouldn’t have had the year I’ve had and achieved what I have with my pickleball unless I took that leap. I am passionate about following your heart and finding enjoyment and self-development in everything you do. For me, I either win or I learn. I really enjoy watching the pros in the US, and supporting/following on the Aussie pros as well.
I couldn’t be more grateful to be a Sypik Australia sponsored player. Having only started this year, to have a community and a home in which I can lean on during seasons of improvement or in competitions, is something I didn’t experience with my tennis until many years down the track. The belief and interest in me not only as a player but as a person is what sets Sypik apart. It also helps how much I love my Sypik Avatar paddle – you can’t pry it out of my hands!
I grew up with a racquet in my hand — tennis was my first love, and by the time I was 18, I’d become Australia’s #1 ranked junior player. But life had other plans, and that journey eventually led me to discover a new passion: pickleball. What started as curiosity last year quickly became my calling.
Today, I’m proud to be a professional pickleball athlete, competing at the highest level both in Australia and abroad. I’ve been honoured to serve as an ambassador for PPA Australia, and to captain the NPL last year — leading my team to two titles back-to-back podium finishes and also being Named State MVP. Being drafted to the MLP Sydney Smash was another dream come true, proof of how far this sport has taken me in just a bit over a year.
Beyond the medals and rankings — currently top 10 in Australia, 27 pro medals, and x2 MLP Australia 2025 Finalist — and the lastest result being crowned the National Champion of the 2025 APC. what drives me most is seeing the sport grow. As a certified Pickleball Global Level 1 Coach, I’m deeply passionate about bringing pickleball to more communities, especially across Sydney.
Pickleball has given me more than just competition — it’s given me purpose, connection, and joy. I’m inspired daily by the athletes who’ve paved the way before me, by the next generation learning to hold a paddle for the first time, and by the community that cheers from the sidelines.
This journey isn’t just about wins; it’s about growth, gratitude, and giving back to the game that changed my life.
Becoming part of the Sypik Australia Team is something that truly means alot to me. It’s more than just another company — it’s about representing a movement, a family, and a nation that’s rapidly falling in love with this sport. I am blessed to have teammates who share the same fire, dedication, and belief in what we’re building together.
My name is Gabby May from Melbourne, Australia. I’ve been playing pickleball for a year and a half now and can’t get enough! I’m fortunate enough to have the opportunity to be an Ambassador with Sypik Australia! I look forward to growing pickleball in Australia with a brand who is as passionate about pickleball and quality as I am! I’m very into holistic health and pickleball ticks so many of those boxes- it’s great for social connection, physical activity, mental health and it’s very inclusive. Funnily enough my uncle lives in America and has been a pickleball coach for over 20 years.. I’m kicking myself I didn’t start sooner! I’m inspired by the GOAT ALW! She is just everywhere and solid in all parts of her game! Also by local Aussie Lara Giltinan, grinding over on the US circuit putting in the work and climbing that ladder!
What I achieved in the last 18 months:
If you’re in Melbourne, let’s dink!
I feel so excited and incredibly proud to be part of the Sypik Australia Team. My journey in Pickleball started in 2022 when a friend asked me to go and have a try with her. Since then I’ve fallen in love with the game and are one of those typical Pickleball addicts.
Coming from a tennis background I grew up watching my parents play tennis, my father being a great role model. I was taught to be competitive but at the same time to show both integrity and sportsmanship on and off the court.
I live near the beach in a beautiful part of the world called Rye, about 90 minutes from the city of Melbourne it’s here that I’ve owned my business – The Boat House Gym for the past 25 years and enjoy working with people helping them reach and achieve their health and fitness goals.
As part of the MLP team Eastern Rush and NPL team Rangers I love the camaraderie and teamwork that is involved when playing league tournaments.
Some of my successes include the Gold in the singles at the 2024 Australian Pickleball Championships, silver in the 2025 championships and gold in the split age gender doubles 2025.
I am currently the number one ranked Female Masters Player in Australia. Other achievements include gold medals in PPA and Australian State Championships in the Masters category.
Pickleball has allowed me to travel and see different places and compete in high-level competition. It had also given me opportunities to meet wonderful people and make new and lifelong friends.
My name is Nicholas Maleganeas and I’m 20 years old and from the Gold Coast Australia. I grew up my whole life in Canberra where I loved going mountain biking and playing tennis. When I moved to the Gold Coast for University, I ended up discovering pickleball through a friend from tennis and have been playing ever since.
Winning NPL Season 3 has to be the highlight of my career so far but my MLP Challenger team the Mavs are currently on a 3 tournament win streak which has been massive aswell. My goal for the rest of the year is to make the top 3 in NPL S4 and finish off the MLP season by winning the finals with my team. Going into next year I want to focus on dominating Asia and making a name for myself over there by playing and winning a lot of the local tournaments and cooking all the street hustlers.Hayden Patriquin is definitely my favourite player and someone I try to model my game off (Maybe it’s just because we’re both short lol).
Off the court you might catch me playing some poker at my mates place or at the casino. I feel as though poker is a great way to stimulate your brain and a lot of the strategy and game theory can translate really well over to the pickleball court. I’d say my mum is my inspiration as she’s always supported whatever crazy dreams I’ve wanted to chase my whole life and has always gone out of her way to help me out and make sure I’m safe. Everyday I try to make her proud and I hope my career in pickleball can achieve this and also help me to give back to her in the future.
Being apart of the Sypik Australia brand is not just about representing a market leader in the paddle space but more so being apart of a tight knit community that ranges across the globe and being able to feel apart of a family wherever I go. Since joining the Sypik Australia team, It has been great to have an awesome group of people that are constantly behind you and supporting one another both on and off the court. This is something that not many people get to experience with it being a solely individual based sport. Having this constant support and camaraderie between the team has definitely helped me to push towards my goals and play my best.
I’m Matthew Kouznetsov from Melbourne, Australia, and I’m 25 years old. I started playing tennis when I was 7 and spent years travelling all over the world competing, even basing myself in Spain for training between tournaments. Tennis was a huge part of my life, and those skills have definitely given me a head start in pickleball… but the more I play, the more I realise there’s still so much to learn and build into my game.
I got into pickleball at the end of 2023 after my brother told me to give it a go. Honestly, I thought it looked like a silly little game at first, until I played one match and got hooked instantly.
A few of my favourite highlights so far:
I’m working my way to the top, and one player who really inspires me is Christian Alshon since I feel like our styles are pretty similar. I’m chasing that podium finish in a Pro PPA event soon.
Being sponsored by Sypik Australia honestly means a lot. Their paddles are next level. The Avatar for me has the perfect combo of spin, power, and control. Since joining the Sypik family in mid 2025, it’s been unreal from organised trips across Asia to supporting major tournaments, it’s been awesome to represent a brand that truly backs its players.
My name is Tim, and I’m from Melbourne, Australia. Pickleball quickly became something I fell in love with, with the speed, the precision, and the challenge of constantly trying to improve. I was ranked the No. 1 16U junior in Australia by DUPR and have competed in the NPL Pro Tour from Season 1 through Season 3, reaching the finals in Season 3 against some of the nation’s best. I’ve also had the opportunity to compete internationally on the PPA Asia Circuit, which pushed me to grow as a player and experience the game at a new level.
I look up to Hayden Patriquin for his unreal hands, quick reactions, and especially his flick. The way he can turn defence into offence in an instant inspires me to keep developing that same creativity and touch in my own game.
For me, pickleball is about passion and growth. I love the process of improving, the energy of competition, and the feeling of leaving everything out there on the court. Every match teaches me something new, and that’s what keeps me coming back every single day.
Being a sponsored Sypik Australia player and brand ambassador means a lot to me. It represents trust, pride, and the chance to be part of a brand that’s helping grow the sport I love. I’m proud to represent Sypik on and off the court, and I want to help inspire more players to experience the same excitement and passion that pickleball has given me.
I’m Kyle Anderson, proud member of the Stingers in the NPL Pro Tour.
I run my own tennis academy, I also coach pickleball as an RPO Level 2 Certified Coach. I’m fortunate to be coached by Chris Harradine (US Pickleball Camps) and Collin Johns, two of the best minds in the game.
My pickleball journey began in mid-2024 with my best mate, Kyle Stoker, at a local indoor centre. As tennis coaches, we started playing on rainy days and quickly became hooked. That passion led to us being drafted into the NPL for Season 2, where we earned a bronze medal 🥉. Since then, I’ve competed in APC and PPA events, gaining valuable experience and pushing to reach new levels in the sport.
In 2022 and again in 2025, I have faced and beat high-grade brain tumours undergoing two brain operations and high-dose radiation therapy. Those experiences taught me more about resilience, perspective, and gratitude than anything else ever could.
I’ve always looked up to Rafael Nadal his relentless work ethic, mental strength, and humility both on and off the court continue to inspire how I approach life and competition.
Today, I’m proud to represent SYPIK as a sponsored athlete. For me, it’s not just about the paddle it’s about believing in something bigger: hard work, resilience, and an unshakable love for the game of pickleball.
